The "iplan mobile" app is a component of the "iplan" workforce management solution. This "iplan" system allows shift and duty scheduling for a companys employees via a sophisticated user interface.The "iplan mobile" app allows employees of companies using "iplan" to access their work schedule. The current work schedule is always displayed, and changes submitted by the staff planning department via “iplan” are immediately updated and flagged in the app.The app is divided into three areas. In the first area, the dashboard, basic schedule information is displayed, particularly with reference to the current day. In addition to the users own shift the shifts of selected colleagues can be displayed, pending sufficient user privileges.The second area, the schedule display, allows the user to choose between a calendar view, in which a month is always displayed, or a list view, in which the user can scroll the days of the calendar vertically. A special feature is the possibility to display the schedule of a selected colleague next to the users own schedule in the list view. This helps, for example, to find carpooling opportunities or to identify duty swap opportunities with colleagues.In the third area, the request processing, a list of all requests already entered by the user is displayed in the default setting. Such requests are either absence requests, e.g. vacation or special leave requests, or they are "general requests", e.g. requests for a specific shift on a certain day or exchange requests agreed with colleagues. The request list shows for the status for each request, has it already been approved, rejected, or is it still pending. From the request list, the user can navigate to a detail screen for a request, where a request can be edited or new requests can be entered. The requests entered by the app user appear in the GUI of the “iplan” workforce management system shortly after they have been entered and can then be edited and ultimately decided on by the workforce management staff at any time. This centralizes and simplifies communication regarding all employee concerns about their roster.
